We booked our stay last minute on Labor Day weekend for a quick getaway. The unit was on the upper level of a lovely historic home. It has a beautiful unit with all the charm and details of older homes.
Nestled in a quiet part of town, this unit is in a beautifully preserved historic building, with elements that tell stories of its past. High ceilings, huge windows, original hardwood floors, create a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The natural light pouring in from the windows highlights the architectural details, making the space feel both airy and intimate.Every room in the unit was thoughtfully designed, with careful attention to maintaining its historic charm while providing all the modern amenities you could need. The kitchen though equipped with the basics, could use some additional pots and pans, to cook a nice meal. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the attention to detail in the decor, which balanced vintage style with modern touches.
Our host was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The check-in process was smooth, and they provided a comprehensive guide to the property, including information about local places to eat at and visit. Whether you're a history lover, an architecture enthusiast, or just someone looking for a unique and peaceful retreat, this place is a must. I left with a sense of nostalgia and a renewed appreciation for the beauty of well-preserved, historic spaces.

Dorchester
This was a lovely property. It was particularly nice to be in an historic home AND be some close to Downtown. We walked most places and really enjoyed ourselves. While we had a good time, the water pressure was terrible. It was difficult to take a shower and conserve water at the same time; we could not find a non-stick pan to use for our breakfast. Given where we are, it's certainly understandable, but breakfast for 5 from the grocery store is $20. The front room could also use some window coverings. It gets hot in there and while it may not fit the theme of the house, the air conditioner is working a little harder to cool. Overall, a good location and comfortable stay, but with those improvements, it would be even better.

Beautiful and light
We loved our stay on Court St. It was clean, quaint, nicely decorated, and LIGHT. I love a light living space. Ceilings are high. It’s an old building with lots of plants and a few fireplaces still there from days of old (not working now). Lots of personality. Right in downtown, so you can get to know the city a little bit. The only reason I have a 4 for accuracy of listing is because the listing said dog friendly. But the information available when we arrived at the place, said dogs were not allowed. However, our circumstances had changed, and we didn’t have our dog with us anyway. So I never clarified. If we do a BNB in Lynchburg again, this is it. (We have been to several others in Lynchburg) The nice 2nd floor living space was very roomy. However, there were no curtains. That’s the only change I recommend.
